THE MUSEUM OF TRABZON
The mansion which today serves as the Museum of Trabzon was constructed by the money broker Kostaki Teophylaktos around 1898-1918 in the early 1900s. The architect of the mansion is supposed to have been an Italian, however his name is not clarified. The structure reveals that most of the materials used in the construction of this mansion were imported from Italy. In 1917, Kostaki Teophylaktos went bankrupt, and all his property including this mansion was confiscated.
AHİ EVREN DEDE MOSQUE AND MAUSOLEUM
The construction date of Ahi Evren Dede Mosque, which is located in Boztepe Neighbourhood overlooking Trabzon, is not known.
DURSUN ALİ İNAN MUSEUM
Dursun Ali İnan Museum, which aims to transfer the history, culture, life, handicrafts and nature of Uzungöl to the present generations, is established on an area of approximately 4,000 square meters. Built under the roof of the traditional wooden Uzungol House, which was built based on local architecture, the museum includes local and archaeological works that Dursun Ali İnan added to his collection, as well as various figures he made from tree roots he found in nature.
THE LIVING CORE OF TRABZON: ORTAHISAR NEIGHBORHOOD
There are plenty of historical artifacts in a narrow area in Ortahisar neighborhood.
THE ARSENAL
The Arsenal is the most striking structure among the ones in Trabzon. According to the Yıldız Palace records, it was constructed in 1305 in Islamic Calendar (1887 in Gregorian calendar). Both the inscription and the signature of Sultan Abdülhamit II over its door confirms this date. The Arsenal, with a 25-40 m diameter, includes two circular structures; one inside of the other. The inside one is four storied whereas the outer is three storied.
KADIRALAK PLATEAU
The villages in the region were established above the valleys of the rivers flowing down from the mountains to the sea.
ZAĞNOS BASTION
Zağnos Bastion was built of hewn stone with a quadrangular plan in time of Alexios the 2nd. It was used as a dungeon for a while.
