YOROZ LIGHTHOUSE
Fener Village (Yoroz), is a district of Carsibasi. The name Yoroz came from the Yeros Lighthouse which was built by the French.

The village, as it is leaning against the mountains, has the Black Sea in view of it. It presents the perfect scenery. Only a skillful poet can describe the way the waves hit the beach which is what you see when you look to the sea from Fener village. Sea pollution does not exist here.

The Lighthouse which has been guiding the sailors for 117 years, belong to the Coastal Safety and Salvage Directorate. I am a worker in the lighthouse. It was ordered to be built by the Ottoman Empire in 1886. The French did the construction. It was utilized for all this time except two years. My grandmothers father Mustafa Birinci is the first person to be assigned in the lighthouse. Between the years 1916 and 1918, it stopped working due to squalor. After the maintenance and repair, it started guiding the sailors once again.

Mehmet Oncel Koc, who is the former Culture and Tourism president, registered the lighthouse and it was recognized as a historical building.
