Well-known for being founded in 1884, Trabzon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in a way that is worthy of their name, aims to implement a project that intends to enlighten the deep-rooted history of Trabzon. Besides hosting various civilizations within its 4000 years of history, Trabzon, that is among the ancient cities of Silk road, put a historical artifacts collection under protection, which essentially consist of handwritten manuscripts including Koran, Islamic law books, diplomas, tractates and also calligraphy plates, metallic works, silver and inlaid inkstands and inkwells from 16th and 18th century belonged to Ottomans and Seljuks. This collection has a great importance and cultural value not only for Trabzon but also the region around it.
